Background: His Royal Majesty Alhaji Abdul Azeez Olu Adegoke Adeyemi, mni, JP the Alara of Aramoko Ekiti was born on 4th December, 1942 at Aramoko Ekiti in the present Ekiti West Local Government of Ekiti State. He attended St. Annes Catholic Primary School, Aramoko Ekiti between January 1949 and December 1956,he proceeded to St. Finbarrs Secondary Modern School, Efon Alaye for his Secondary School education in January 1957 and between January 1961 and December 1962, he was at St. John Teachers Training College, Ibadan where he obtained his Teachers Certificate Grade III. In 1965, he enrolled at Ondo/Oyo Joint Provincial College, Ile – Ife where he obtained his Teachers Certificate Grade II in 1966. Oba Olu Adeyemi’s long quest for knowledge took him to the highest Institution of learning in Nigeria, the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS), Kuru Jos in 1988. His working experience began as a teacher at St. Annes Catholic Primary School Aramoko Ekiti between January and December, 1960. He also taught at St. Peters Catholic Primary School Igbara Odo. between January 1963 and December 1964 and St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary school Ikere Ekiti between 1967 and 1968. The Alara was a Sole Administrator, Ifesowapo Local Government, Ondo state in 1985 and Permanent Secretary/Liaison Officer, Ondo State Liaison Office, Lagos in 1986. He served as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Extension Services, Akure between November 1988 and February 1989, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives Ondo State between 1989 and 1990 and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Social Welfare, Ondo State between 1990 and 1991.Oba Abdul Azeez Adeyemi voluntarily retired from the Civil Service on the 31st of December 1991.

Kingdom History:

Aramoko-Ekiti is the Headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government in Ekiti State. It is an ancient town with access roads to all parts of Ekiti and Osun States. It is approximately 26 kilometers to Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, 15 kilometers to Ijero-Ekiti, 15 kilometers to the warm spring at Ikogosi Ekiti and about 42 kilometers to Ilesa in Osun State. From time immemorial, Aramoko-Ekiti has been a sovereign town. The founder and the first ruler was one of the sixteen Obas and foremost Paramount Rulers in Yorubaland with full traditional right and authority to wear without any harm of danger the Original Special beaded crown decorated with sixteen birds. (The Eiye Okin, Iyere Okina, symbolised it) was bestowed on him by the ODUDUWA (The progenitor of all Yoruba race) and other emblems of ruling Authority before they were sent out of Ile-Ife (The cradle of Yoruba Race) to search for suitable land on which they could set-up their respective kingdoms independent of one another control. As an ancient town, its history dates back to many centuries ago. Aramoko Ekiti has a unique historical beginning with very rich traditional and cultural heritage to be proud of. In those olden days, the administration of the town was entirely in the hands of a council of seventeen high chiefs which also constitute the kingmakers. Chief Ologbudu who is called EYELOGBUDU is a woman. She is traditionally recognized as the head of all the women folk in Aramoko Kingdom.
